Hyun Chul Lee

Composer

Hyun Chul Lee (이현철) majored in music composition(BM) at Georgia State University, and received master of music(MM) in compostion at Westminster Choir College. He has been composed in various genres for children’s and adult choirs since 2000 and composed more than 800 choral works.
He has his own compositional style with beautiful melodies and harmonies together, his wonderful choral pieces are performed by many choirs in Korea including World Vision Korea Children’s Choir, Incheon City Chorale, etc. getting excellent reputations from the audiences.
His music has been published by many publishers in Korea including Chorus Center, Joongang Art, etc.
Especially, he was commissioned to compose Christmas Carols for SSA and SATB from Oxford University Press, U.K.
Previously, he was a composer-in-residence of World Vision Korea Children’s Choir, he is currently an adjunct professor of music composition and theory at Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary, a composer-in-residence of Uijungbu City Choir, a lecturer of Korea Choral Academy, a professor of GCU school of music, and board member of Chunsong Foundation.
