Hye-Young Cho

As one of the leading composers in South Korea,
choral music by Hye-Young Cho (b. 1969)

have been hailed by major professional choirs in Korea. Her works have been performed by
numerous choirs of all ages and levels. Notably, she was commissioned to write "Te Deum" for
the opening concert of the World Symposium on Choral Music (WSCM) held in Seoul, Korea
(2014). Currently, she is the composer-in-residence for Incheon City Chorale and president of the
Korean Choral Composition Association (KCCA). She was a composer-in-residence for Ansan
City Choir and National Chorus of Korea. She also took professorships at Hanyang University,
Konkuk University, and Kangwon National University in Korea. She received bachelor’s and
master’s degrees in composition at Hanyang University.
