Byunghee Oh’s (b. 1975) works have been performed in almost every choir and commissioned by most major professional choirs in Korea and considered as one of the leading composers in Korea. She was a composer-in-residence for The National Chorus of Korea from 2018 to 2021.
During her tenure she wrote innovative compositions incorporating western singing, traditional Korean singing, movements, acting, screen, and lighting.
She won the 10th Korean Wave Awards, Pure Culture Grand Prize in Classical Music in 2022. She is currently a composer-in- residence for Yoon Hak-Won Chorale and teaches at Korea Choral Composition Academy. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in composition at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea.
